NSS
The National Service Scheme (NSS) is an Indian Government Sponsored Public Service Programme conducted by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports of the Government of India. The sole aim of the NSS is to provide hands on experience to young students in delivering Community Service. “Not Me But You” with this great motto, the NSS Unit of Government Degree College, Gandacherra, under Dhalai district was started its Journey in 2012 with 20 nos of students. We have been conducting daily activities and Annual Camps(special Camps) on regular basis. On the other hand, our Unit gives emphasis on cleanliness, afforestation, awareness Programmes on different social issues, Blood donation Camp, Health Camp & HIV-test etc.
Keeping in mind about the Pandemic situation, our unit has taken a special initiative (‘Relief Camp’) to provide help to the people of our adopted village Laxmipur, where we distributed rice, daal, Soyabin, Mask, and old clothes. Here some of pictures are given below.
